Jackie Henisee is a local West Chester Ceramicist. She has been working out of the Chester Springs Studio in the Village of Historic Yellow Springs and now her home studio for the last 3 years.

Inspiration for her work comes from exploring the outdoors with her pup, Slip. Her forms and surface treatments are reflections of the observed natural world, brought back to her studio. Once Jackie has created a form and carved it’s surface, she fires her work in a wood kiln, stoking a fire for 24 hours to reach 2350° F. This firing process allows the spontaneous forces of the flame and wood ash to further enhance the natural quality of her pieces.
